Waikite Valley Thermal Pools is a unique place to come and experience the ‘Living Waters’ of the Te Manaroa Spring - the largest single source of 100% pure geothermal water in New Zealand. 

Thermal Pool Complex

The pure spring water cascades into our hot pool complex with a choice of six bathing options, in a natural setting, with pool temperatures ranging between 35 and 40°C.

Private Spas

Treat yourself to a private spa, with tranquil native bush and geothermal valley outlook and individual temperature controls.

Te Manaroa Spring Eco-trail

Enjoy our short family friendly walking trail to the spectacular bubbling Te Manaroa Spring, the source of our pure geothermal water. Discover unique geothermal botany and geology unique to this area. 


Stay at our 26 Site Campground with powered and unpowered sites, shower, kitchen and laundry facilities and unlimited access to the pool complex.

On- Site  Café

Our on-site cafe serves a snack menu, coffee,a selection of beer and wine, soft drinks and ice cream from 12-6pm daily, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas overlooking the pool complex and valley. 

Traffic Light System - Vaccine Certificate Requirement

As we move to the Covid Protection Framework on 3 December, we will be operating with vaccine certificates, so all staff will be fully vaccinated, and all guests will be required to show their vaccine pass to enter the pools, cafe and campground.

At all levels, we request that you do not enter the premises if you have flu like or Covid-19 symptoms, if you have been instructed to self-isolate or if you are awaiting a Covid-19 test result. You will be required to scan in using the Covid Tracer App or the manual sign in.

At Red and Orange levels, masks will be required on entry to the complex. Masks are not required once seated to eat or when using the pools. 
At Red there will also be limitations to our capacity to allow 1m distancing.
