The Luge at Skyline Rotorua
Designed right here in Rotorua and a firm family favourite is the Luge at Skyline Rotorua. Take a scenic gondola ride up the side of Mount Tarawera and then hit the slopes for some gravity fuelled fun! There’s some great food options at the Market Kitchen, or sneak off for a tasting of locally made Volcanic Hills wine, their tasting room is at the top of the gondola.
Good old-fashioned fun is on the cards at aMAZEme, which as the name suggests, is a giant maze, skilfully crafted from 1.4km of winding hedges! Lose the kids in the maze, hang out with some furry friends in the small animal enclosure or take a picnic.
Waikite Valley Thermal Pools
Waikite Valley is a favourite with families of all ages. The pool complex has a variety of bathing options, the Settlers Pool is a great choice for kids, with a shallow sloped area for the little ones. The landscaped Garden Pool has a beautiful outlook over the Waikite Valley or escape the madness with the Pergola Pool or the passive bathing area Sit and Soak Pool.
